Primo solo project of one half of Barn Owl duo: lovely dreamy haunting droney shimmering solo guitar, loud yet soft, distorted yet clean. Incorporates acoustic guitar and analog synth in places. Not so much pure drones as drones deconstructed. The next logical step after Oren Ambarchi, newer Earth, Sunn ((O))). All instrumental, no FCCs. At home at Terrastock. Better than drugs. Well, almost.
1) quiet ambient environmental sound sets the tone at first, then searing distinctive guitar that cross-fades over itself, not so much as layers, radio friendly length
2) long, evolves, quiets a bit after 3 minutes, some subtle bell-like tones, begins to drone around 8 min in a serious way, then fades down with 7 min remaining, relying on pretty melodic guitar lines that have a near reed quality about them, ends with acoustic guitar, fucking epic
3) quiet discernable clean guitar, dreamlike, about 2.5 minutes in a drone appears and makes this heavier
4) bell-like tones start this off, another epic long meditation, then bendy/slide guitar with crunchy chords very reminiscent of recent joshua tree Earth appear, after which a lovely held tone from an old analog synth lays the foundation for some perfecto narcotic drone until ~5 min remaining at which it all mellows with the synth sounding more like a pump organ and psyche acoustic guitar reigns
