this was originally performed by messiaen&yvonne loriod in nazi occupied paris. please read booklet=good story.
now, it is performed by nonken&rothenberg. enjoy!

SUGGESTED TRACKS: 2, 4, 5, 7.
1. dreary begin. sounds like a hangover. tinkling
piano. hope wants to come in, but there's stumbling.
up the steps. sudden stop.
*2. ploddy noir. hopscotch w/searchlights. plaayful.
stabby ending. =it came out bad.
3.. okey, this sounds nice. much quieter. tinkly. rolling quality.
*4. softer, sweeter than before. this just holds you. loved.
old saloon sound comes in near end. ends on sweet.
5. sounds like music for a very serious episode of charlie brown.
reminds me of gershwin. kinda fun. makes me wanna have black coffee and curl up for the night.
6. i'm hearing chopin. a really dark chopin.
*7. 'see-i told you so!', it seems to say near the end.
it's a great, building end.
