NeuroIsisPelican-y heavy instrumental Rock/Metal. This stuff has been played out but these Greeks do add more than usual to the style with some not so super obvious twists & turns including a fixation on Linklater’s animated movie “Waking Life”. (Granted not exactly his best). In all, a mostly good debut.
((((1)))) Very loud & riffy with the occasional outward forays into different moods/tempos and light shimmery stuff (which thank keep mercifully short).
((((2)))) Drifty pretty typical “Isis-Pelican’t” sound. More Indie Rock than Metal in the 1st half and gets heavier & a more interesting in the 2nd half. Extra points for the Mercyful Fate riff nick. (“Satan’s Fall”)
((((3)))) Fast chords, lots of drums, zig-zaggy riffs constant motion. Then some light strummy stuff and more riffs and back again. REALLY quiet from 5:50-7:41. Comes back with feedback and “Waking Life” sample. If they got rid of this part it would be SO much better!
