Ambient, mellow pop. Sounds very much like The Beach Boys, a bit like Animal Collective’s MPP. All songs are slow and chill unless noted. The band is a duo from Detroit and obsessed with car racing, hence named after a Nascar driver. FCC Clean. All tracks recommended.
1. Lumbering love song. Very chill- chiming guitars, heavy bass drum, tired vocals. Ambient synth line in the background.
2. A bit more upbeat. Beachy vibe. Breezy, but sparse. Some brass gives it an uplifting feeling. Sounds like something by Rivers Cuomo.
3. Soft pop. Starts with whistling line. Sounds a bit like “Martha My Dear” by Paul McCartney. Chiming guitar, harmonized vocals.
4. Cover of the Beach Boys. Sounds as sweet as the original, but feels very current, with a halting guitar line, lush synth background and lumbering bass drum.
