Wesleyan alums join Brooklynite brethren Amazing Baby, MGMT in the indie scene. The album morphs from straightforward indie rock to slow experimental tracks. Voice sounds very much like Andrew VanWyngarden from MGMT. Tentative* FCC on 3. Try 1,2,3,5.
†1.Mid tempo. Playful steady beat- led by keyboard pounding. High pitched falsetto voice in verses. Chorus is darker, change in voice. Lo-fi.
†2.Mid tempo. Guitar based, w/drum beat driving riff. Halting and punk-ish.
†3.Mid tempo. Guitar riff opener. Chorus is crazy catchy! Sound is garage like, very lo-fi. Syncopated drum beat and lots of tambourine. (*Goddamn)
4.Upbeat and catchy. Pleading vocals, quick beat, steady drums, &c.
†5.Downbeat. More experimental. Ethnic sounds, hand drums. A bit electro.
6.Downbeat. Echo-y vocals. Dramatic chorus with crashing cymbals and swelling instrumentation
7.Downbeat. Slow, dreamy entrance, kind of 80s inspired with lo-fi distorted crisp drum beats and a slow guitar pick riff.
8.Upbeat. Quick and dirty garage slammer.
9.Mid tempo. Repetitive grinding guitar riff played between stanzas.
10.Downtempo. Sounds like something off the new MGMT album. Weird vocal renditions, feedback used experimentally. 4s of silence at end.
11.Downtempo. Acoustic guitar strumming. Very earthy. Sudden ending.
