losicl (lowercase “l”) is Scott Morgan (drummer from Destroyer)’s electro-ambient project. More of a minimalist approach with slower tempos than some other “electronic” music. Dangerous to listen to while driving a car late at night. Quite relaxing, soothing, ambient, planetarium music, but not yet crossing into “New Age” as far as I can tell. RIYL Gas, Pan*American, Brian McBride. One FCC on 8.
*1. Field recording of rain opens track, slow, accordion-like synth seeps in gracefully with deep, sequenced ambient tones, very nice. (7:55)
2. Vague, digital bird cooing, sustained, distant drone, droplet-like interplay of bloops, ringing piano chords come in later. (8:21)
3. Soft, digital bass drum clicks slowly along to sustained synth notes, slow, sleepy track, subtle touches of electro-noise seeping in.(7:07)
4. Dub-influenced, rhythmic electro-scape; chill (6:07)
5. Gentle, bobby oceanic rhythm emerges within deep-sea dolphin mating music. (7:11)
*6. A little more urgent, pressing, sinister; heapings of layers and tones. (7:41)
7. A motif is cycled and slightly varied, kind of warm and (8:44)
8. FCC (one “shit”) Dan Bejar guests on spoken word, vinyl crackling, Tangerine Dream-esque electro-swirl pulse; ends with the sounds of rain. (8:54)
