Super cool composed indie pop with a heavy dose of chamber, splashes of afro/carribean, and heavy composition, avante experimentalism. Female vocs, male, good treatments, multi-instruments, interesting non-conventional everything yet listenable, accessible and pleasant. From the UK. Hard to describe this or draw analogies (Fiery Furnaces on a Caribbean beach with a string quartet?). Cue up a few seconds of the highlighted tracks and you’ll see how cool it is.
1) simple synth, minor toned with fem vocals singing primeval pony, very stripped down and minimal
2) menacing bowed bass that grows heavy, epic dual vocal melodies
3) worldy African quality, ethiopiques meets carribean
4) mouth harp, gives this a strange dijeridoo classical tone
5) African swingy pop feel
6) pensive off time with backwards masked tones/melodies
7) stripped down, vocal heavy/led, melodic guitar, harmonica
8) a simple exotic ballad feel, strings, melodic, vaudevillian almost
9) pleasing indie pop, somehow bent, mid paced but nicely lush
10) cool instrumental, eastern sounding guitar and liquidy sounding minimal percussion
11) indie pop feel, complex
