Tiger – Most Wanted
Reviewed by Sadie O. 4/17/11
Completely manic dancehall. Crazy growled vocals, upbeat bloopy electronic riddims (Tiger’s a DJ-producer). Just released best-of compilation – Tiger’s career was cut short by a near fatal motorcycle crash in 1994, and he’s only now starting to perform again.
1. 3:32 ***relaxed rhythmic skank, fun dancehall vocals.
2. 3:16 ****bouncy electronic riddim with sliding electronics, goofy vocals.
3. 3:35 ***bouncy, mostly percussion-based dancehall, call and response vocals – an early dancehall classic.
4. 3:42 ****gonzo slow electronic dancehall riddim, crazed sound system anthem.
5. 4:00 ***uptempo and upbeat rub-a-dub stylee riddim, duet with singer – almost kinda pretty at times.
6. 3:46 ***boopy uptempo electronic riddim, sort of a dancehall-jungle cross.
7. 3:36 ***grunty, blatty new school electronic dancehall, goofy vocals involving nursery rhymes.
8. 3:55 **rather sweet midtempo bounce, very upbeat, not too crazy.
9. 5:03 ****downtempo lover’s rock, duet with Gregory Isaacs. Great stuff.
10. 3:36 ****upbeat bounce with a hint of Trinidad-Chinese sound. Completely, utterly nutted.
11. 3:29 *****what? Nuts! And totally fun. Mad!
12. 4:01 ****midtempo bouncy dub, with bits of mutated chorus.
