Oh Man!
Just like their older albums, it’s amazing. Favorite album this year thus far.
Indie-Rock. Mid-Upbeat. Very lively, full of soulful group long drawn-out lyrics, with great percussions backing and voices and violins and guitar. The main vocalist has a great throat-rasp folky voice (sounds like a Dylan with one of the Felice Brothers), at times with a garage punk feel.
Most songs progress with steady percussion, guitar (sometimes electric, others acoustic) building, voice comes in bursts backed with others, most have this steady build. It gets you going.

Favorites: ALL OF THEM. Really. (stars are my preference, but not to be limiting, my ears eat them all up)

1:* “Gifts and The Raft” - Great stuff. Builds, lively, with violin backing in a sort of Irish jig
2:* “Swim Club” - A steel-toed tappin’ song, folky lyrics, subtle folk fiddle and flutes
3:* “Black Leaf” - More punk, definitely a pump-up tune. Some organ.
4: “Falls” - Slower, more heart felt, deeper. “Oh yea yea”s make it a good night-time city street strolling tune, steady walking beat. Half way comes the organ
5:* “Outer Realms” - Starts with a tune that reminds me of “Caravan” by Black Sabbath, but takes its own style quickly. Heartfelt, strong, and great. Electric solo at half, followed by soft voices to return to the oomph of before
6: “Haller Lake” - More folk-indie (reminds of Vetiver), softer but never boring
7:* “All Land Crabs and Divinity Ghosts” - Very reminiscent of older stuff, acoustic guitar with upbeat percussion and his priceless voice, builds into hopping jig (Irish gone american, yea!)
8: “Clever Creatures” - More poppy, with different guitar style, higher-electric. Different from older tunes, but good, still revs you up
9:* “Haystacks” - Harmonica and folk guitar. Punky voice seems a bit oddly-fit for this in comparison to their other stuff, stands apart, but still a great listen. Gospel backup!!
10: “Distant Sures” - Back to slower acoustic plucking, good end-of-nighter with that special person, lost together like the background violin looking into the distance. aww
11:* “Faze Wave” - Woah! Some Indian drone (tanpura I think), epic, more simple, vocal focus, like the preamble of a desert action scene. So neat
12:* “No Prosecution If We Bail” - Return of the punk-indie rock touch. Pumpy, head bobber, an epic conclusion. Really fun.
