Solo piano in an improvised-classical vein; two long pieces and one short one. Try the opening of (1) or all of (2) or (3).
(Instrumental; FCC clean.)
1- (26:54) -- A huge, thunderous intro; quickly settles into aggressive classical noodling. First 10 minutes (to an abrupt stop at -16:25) would make a good excerpt.
The music has a few other long pauses, making it feel like an album side. (Roughly -13:40 to -10:40 is a nice serious episode, bracketed by long silences.) A live recording, this music was improvised alongside a silent film by Martha Colburn.
2- (16:31) -- Quiet, crystalline start, builds into a lot of loud, jagged playing. Tough to excerpt because it's one long flow and takes a while to build, but it's a good piece.
3- (4:00) -- Unflowery chords played in a flowery way. Kind of pretty, kind of not. Really interesting.
