Winterlight: Hope Dies Last: The instrumental project of Tim Ingham, this is a chill fusion of light instrumental rock with electronica jams. Like Tycho will less of an electronic focus, FCC clean (all instrumental). Try everything. Not often I say that, but it’s all so similar and so listen-worthy.
1) 5:17 Calm and downtempo voice, guitar, synths, with light percussion. Chill as hell.
2) 3:47 Chime-like synths, mid-tempo relaxation grooves, another great background beat.
3) 6:00 Voice-like synths, reminds me of strolling down the shoreline.
4) 4:36 Gorgeous synth soundscape, with no percussion. Smooth and flowing.
5) 4:41 More pretty synth backgrounds, this time with a dash of drums. Downtempo.
6) 6:34 Entitled “Nattvardsgästerna” the Swedish word for “Winterlight.” Very calming, reminiscent of The Album Leaf.
7) 5:43 8-bit-like synths over a smooth soundscape.
8) 6:36 More of the same. And that’s a good thing.
9) 7:54 Very slow start, and gradually builds synth layers. No dramatic climax, though.
10) 5:10 More of an electronic psychedelic groove feeling to this track. Subtle bass line, syncopatic drums. Very cool stuff.
11) 6:40 Very soundscape-y. No real melody line, just atmospheric synths and electronic sounds.
12) 8:22 A luscious wave of sound. Slow and steady.
