Texas teenage trio that are equal parts garage, surf, and psychedelic. We got their first 7” a while back and I’ve been itching for a full length ever since. Great stuff, fits in great with the recent Hozac catalog of scratchy lo-fi stuff. Loud and proud. FCC CLEAN
RIYL: 13th Floor Elevators, Wavves, Outer Minds, The People’s Temple, Smith Westerns, Crystal Stilts
1. Surfy intro instrumental
*2. Driving rock n roll—a rumbling bass, cascades of loose guitar chords.
*3. Blistering chords, loud messy percussion, echoey vocals. Halfway the song tears apart in a blast of distortion, but then it’s back off to the races. Awesome.
4. Appeared on their first 7” from Hozac (peep the library). Poppy tune with Americana accents and lyrics that are a bit of a downer. Notable for its instrumental ramblings.
5. Staccato jabs of percussion, tempo changes, a bit of Pixies-era start-stop action.
*6. Ferocious intro track leads into a minor chord progression thrasher.
*7. Spaghetti Western intro leads into a surfy love song.
8. Slow-emerging instrumental track. Lots of early psychedelic roots.
*9. Driving rock n roll with smooth lyrics. Killer guitar solo.
*10. Big chords, big drums done with deliberate lo-fi aesthetics a la Dum Dum Girls. Lyrics fraught with tension/anxiety.
11. Edgy, sassy. Big noisy outro.
