Re-release of a rare 1968 library album, loungecore organ work by the Italian composer Umiliani. Many of these tracks were outtakes from the softcore mondo film, Sweden: Heaven and Hell. Most famously, Mah Nah Mah Nah came from this (originally a sauna sequence), before being propelled to fame, mostly notably by the Muppets. (SEE TRACK 9). It's all wonderfully atmospheric lounge organ, some with vocals and some wholly instrumental.|
(1:59) ***** Spooky little music box on organ, harsh stabs, slinky moans, finally resigned glissandos
(2:28) **** A crowd of partygoers with a medieval flair moan and writhe, purple and plush
(3:23) ***** Dissonant organ notes, unpleasant and shrill, into cool rock organ, fast and swaggery, then shrill again
(1:51) ***** Super-suave plumdrop organ notes, the sort of music a tapdancing peanut would dance to
(2:30) **** '60s college dance party beat, bam-bam organ rhythm, samey but cool
(3:02) **** Secret spy music, discreet drumming and discreet organ, delicate and suave
(3:13) **** Big fat fuzzy organ, straightahead beat, eventual freakout flourishes
(2:38) ***** Big sweet Hammond sound, cool beat at a roller-rink, fast and debonaire
(1:47) ******* Mah-na-mah-na, classic tune, here slightly more subdued and with wonderfully plinky organ. Scruffy main voice, with delicate female accompaniment.
(2:02) ****** The Mah-na-mah-nah guy scats against lovely velvet curtains of Hammond, strolling and silly
(2:34) ***** Wistful harpsichord-y, romantic and lush strings.
(1:44) **** Cool-jazzy and brisk, organ gliding all over the surface
(3:51) **** Simple, minimal Irish tune on the organ at first, then fleshed out into slinky fullness, lazily waltzing on and on
(2:40) ***** Western tune, meandering and charming. Cowboy guitar and lounge organ merge.
