Solid black/death/speed metal from Sweden. Lots of great riffing & some very precise sounding drums and a mix of black metal screech and death metal growling.

Some reference points: Immortal, old Morbid Angel, Setherial, Absu. Excellent production to boot. A great soundtrack for reading horror & fantasy novels and playing role playing games. A pretty solid effort for their first big release. Only downside seems to be the so-so mixing of the vocals.

((((1)))) Ambient sound, wind howling & sword removed from sheath sounds, just a ‘lil intro.
((((2)))) Super-rhythmic, dizzying speed black/death combo. “Eaaahhh” ends in a big ‘ol explosion.
(((((3))))) Killer thrash/speed riffing, a satanic vacuum, then charging black/thrash & a bit of death metal. Fuckin aye the guitars on this just RULE!
((((4))) Heavy on the old Emperor worship mixed with Setherial and
Great pummelling drumming & guitar work (and hell, you can even hear some bass in here!)
(((((5)))) Nice jazzy bass with some ripper mid-tempo intro that has every instrument in balance. Sounds like part of “At War With Satan” by Venom for a few secs. A wild blizard grim & bleak Nordic darkness! It eventually slows way down with the sound of bells, brooding ambience & something breathing (which I first thought was my cat!)
(((6))) Uh-oh, this one’s really too similar to most of what they did already. It’s OK but a little on the unnecessary side.
(((7))) Fairly short blast of fast Nordic black metal. Some pretty rad guitar parts. Extra points for the sample of the crow in the middle which fills out the grandiouse climax.
((((8)))) Nice doomy/trad metal riffs then suddenly fades after about 2 1/2 minutes.
((((9)))) A bit like track #4 but with even more heavy riffing & lots of spiraling/cyclical patterns but the vocals are really buried. Dissection meets early Emperor.
(((((10))))) Some dark ambience/industrial sound (think Cold Meat Industry label bands) with martial drum beats ‘ala Pussiance, Brighter Death Now. Not metal at all but still really rad.
(((11))) A little “samey” but once again the riffing and sheer bombast save these guys from completely going down with the ship. Blackened death metal rage, for certain!
