Praguedren Head Cleaner 2011

Praguedren, consisting of Tomas Effliger and Sector 17, is from East Prague, Czech Republic and they specialize in ambient, electronic music. “Head Cleaner” EP is a turn into more urban ambiences and melancholic themes. There is a focus on the eastern block and Berlin in particular on these tracks. Each track builds on the others and this release offers 18 minutes of smooth ambience.
1. “The Roofless Stars” is an enigmatic track that mixes atmosphere, dub and moody beauty. It has a flowing ambient sound.
2. “East Berliner” This is the original mix of this song. It has a funk like groove with a beautifully shifting drum pattern spread across the beats with little other embellishment.
3. “Head Cleaner” has a strong dub influence with a gentle rhythm and dreamy electronics.
4. “Stairwells” is a menacing track with an eerily threatening style that the duo is known for.
5. “East Berliner (3am mix)” This is a mix of the earlier track that interestingly has no beats yet it seems to tell a story.
