“Dawn” Fox Grin
Fox Grin is an art rock/dream pop band from Atlanta, Georgia — currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee. The band is primarily a duo consisting of Thom Chapman (lead vocals, guitars and keys) and David Bean (bass and backing vocals). The tunes feature accessible rock with full arrangements and an occasional throwback feeling. The music is not nearly as artsy as some art-rock bands deliver. This is their second EP since their debut in 2012, and they have one full-length album, Animals, released in 2013.

Recommended: 3, 1, 2. No FCCs detected.
1. (2:44) Fall into You – Driving rock groove. Full arrangement with guitar, bass, piano and tumbling drums. Dynamic breaks. ***
2. (4:14) All Alright – Mid-tempo rock with a Christian rock theme. Strummed electric guitar. Vocals back in the mix. Effects added in the chorus. “Jesus, you saved my life/Now that it’s all alright.” ***
3. (3:48) Jack Quick – Slower pop-rock with a hooky melody. Throwback to the album-oriented sound of 1970s pop-rock. Cascading piano, strings and synth in the choruses. ****
4. (3:42) Totem – Chugging guitars. Processed vocals with harmonies. More complex melodic structure with tumbling drums.
