It’s really Nell Robinson and Jim Nunally with three others, and they are all
incredibly talented and multi-faceted musicians. This is a Berkeley founded acoustic quintet grounded in folk, Bluegrass, Americana, roots, swing and jazz, called “Alt-Roots” and “Folkbilly.” Fun, varied, entertaining. My faves were: 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, but I liked the others too!
5:53 - slow/med - groovy instrumental intro, then old world murder ballad
3:49 - med - more of a country rock, nice harmonies
3:49 - med - old timey, upbeat song; slick guitar
2:52 - slow/med - country rock, nice accordian
3:51 - med - dramatic feel to country roots fusion
4:22 - slow/med - old timey mixed with blues sound
4:13 - med - Title track, country rock with Highlands feel
4:06 - slow - My very favorite: in Spanish, totally unique
5:41 - med - “dawg music,” from Jerry Garcia’s BG band, Old and In the Way
2:15 - slow/med - Nell vhannels Patsy Cline in a fun song
1:57 - slow/med - short and sweet blues
2:23 med/fast - upbeat
