Well known Swedish melodic death metal with a German frontwoman. Angela Gossow sounds like her voice fits the songs well and the band while adept at cutting out their excess, do have something worthwhile to offer. Pretty good for the most part.
(((1))) Melodic and catchy modern death metal a bit too much guitar wanking though.
((((2)))) Pretty intense and heavy with a good amount of bombast and Gossow’s vocal roaring.
((3)) Cheesy keyboards and chug-chug riffs. Yuk. “Extreme metal” made for Hot Topic.
((((4)))) Strong, riffing mixing thrash/80’s heavy metal and melodic DM. Even the solos work well.
((5)) More cheesy “Hot Topic” death metal cheese.
((6)) Sample from “Caligulia”? Charging thrashy/DM that has a decent mix of melodicism and speed. The guitarist should cool it with the Yngwie-isms, though.
(((7))) Like Accept gone melodic death metal? Well, somehow this works.
(8) Pointless, 80’s wanky, instrumental interlude.
((9)) OK main riff, boring chorus and way too much G.I.T. school wankage.
((((10)))) “Typical” melodic DM but the riff is really tight and holds up all the way through.
((((11)))) Videogame-like guitar but some cool moments of speed and aggression. Solos could be cut in half, though.
