Terrific (new!) roots rock Reggae. Features the singer, bassist and keyboardist from the great No. Cal. group Grounation, jazz guitarist Will Bernard, and legendary reggae drummer Leroy “Horsemouth” Wallace. The jazz aspect adds a great twist. Absolutely top ranking!
No FCCs detected. Everything is excellent…
1. ****low-key bluesy intro, then midtempo bouncy skank with blues guitar, instrumental. Schweeeeet!
2. ***downtempo skank with interesting percussion and bass sounds.
3. **downtempo with slide – sounds a bit “Hawaiian”.
4. ***uptempo bouncy roots skank, very danceable.
5. **mellow nyahbinghi and cool chanting.
6. **downtempo with slide – mellow guitar, but strong riddim.
7. ***midtempo but upbeat – a bit ska.
8. ***uptempo swingy ska with jazzy guitar and piano – cool groove indeed. Instrumental.
9. **midtempo with jazzy vibes/keyboard.
10. ****starts with a bit of preaching, then dubby midtempo syncopated skank, more or less instrumental.
