Nick And Nora's Infinite Playlist Origin
reviewed by: Annika on 1/19/2009
This is the soundtrack to the Michael Cera movie Nick and Nora about a hipster pair of teenagers who find love through an adventure filled night in New York. This is the soundtrack that would be playing throughout their experiences, in theory. Mostly straight-forward indie pop. I loved 3, 7, 9, 14. No FCCs.
1. slow, relaxed acoustics, calming vocals
2. upbeat, funky, bouncy indie pop, fun sexy lyrics
3. similar to other Bishop Allen stuff, breezy pop, rousing chorus, catchy
4. new Vampire Weekend song, fun vocals, steady rhythm, signature violin arpeggios
5. distorted guitars, faded vocals, sounds vintage rock/punk
6. laidback, simple vocals, standard indie pop
7. very similar to previous song, female vocals, mid-tempo, pretty vocals
8. upbeat dance rock, very fun, romantic lyrics
9. fantastic song, cool bass-only intro, strained vocals, well known Band of Horses song
10. very upbeat, different vocals, standard indie pop
11. sweet, slow, folksy song about love
12. upbeat, faded vocals, standard indie pop, abrupt ending
13. slow, sad sounding song, steady piano chords in the background
14. nice Blocd-Party esque sound, Postal Service drum kit background, soothing vocals
15. synth-y intro, theme to the movie, very pretty, no vocals
