The Dead Weather/Sea of Cowards
Second album from The Dead Weather, Jack White's 2nd spin off group since the White Stripes. Way better than their first release, Horehound (check it out in KZSU's library). Sounds like: Jack White awesomeness circa first White Stripes album, Janis Joplin, stuff you (or your parents) listened to in the late 60s with a candle burning. FCC clean. Definitely check out 1, 3, 4, 5, 6.
****1. scratchy & cool; the lyrics are fab...awesome start to the album
2. not as great as others, but still a decent rocker
**3. the 2nd single, fierce, raw, awesome vocals by Mosshart
***4. a psychadelic tripper....wicked mixing of a few simple vocals = a surprisingly radio friendly track
****5. a snarling, cocky track with searing lyrics
**6. a 2010 Sid & Nancy love song
7. eh....skip it
8. self serving White...another eh
9. as you can tell, the last tracks are pretty weak...skip it
**10. super weird, super cool...not radio friendly which means it just might be great for your show
