Intersection of posty instrumental rock, earthy folk, trippiness, and easy listening? Local outfit including members of Tarentel. Jefre Cantu-Ledesma’s other other band. Troupe of skygazing psych experimentalists reel it in for smooth, dreamy structures. Lots of delay and warm guitars. The last album was kind of glossy in production and this follows suit. Kind of cheesy in places. A mixture of the chillness of Do Make Say Think, Tortoise without the math and complex percussion, and psychy fuzz.
1. Fruity, vaguely asian relaxation beginning, cycling phaser fuzz, little bit trippy. (3:17)
2. More structured acoustic guitar line and a song-like drum pattern, guitar washes. (3:30)
*3. Ringing, sustained dreamy keys, pretty. (2:25)
4. Acoustic guitar looped alongside spacey fuzz, drifty effects, distortion. (2:55)
5. Guitars are kind of raga-like, hits a little hypnotic drone, solemn pianos come in and guitars drop out, guitar on heavy phaser/delay creeps back in. Relaxing summertime drifting. (8:12)
*6. mid/slow chill drum groove; drawn out guitar chords effected through delayed, trippy, fuzzy textures; false ending -1:15; soft dreamy keys to end. (4:10)
7. Looped key manipulations filtered through various feedback devices, mixer and guitar static/fuzz. (3:15)
*8. Slow electric guitars, meditative interlude on a beach. (2:23)
9. Sloow dreamy intro, acoustic guitar jauntily comes in, melodic, lengthy. (9:51)
10. Chill relaxing dreamy melodic layers and sustained keys returns to the indistinct asian motif. (2:18)
