Album Review

Light, flowy indie-pop. Colombian girl-boy duo that resides States-side, with mostly English vocals. Noted if songs are in Spanish. There’s a certain urgency to the music that to me makes the EP intriguing. Not groundbreaking, but enjoyable. Reminds me of Feist and God Help the Girl. Try 5, 2. FCC Clean.
1. 3.22 Mid-tempo pop. Layered vocals, AOR-ish guitars. Apprehensive towards the end.
†2. 3.46 In Spanish. Poppy, quick and sweet. Constant falsetto line behind main vocal line, which, warning, might come off as irritating to those not pop inclined. Builds towards end.
3. 4.21 Starts slow, builds into a mid-tempo pop fest, then into an upbeat, incredibly repetitive chorus line.
4. 3.45 Mid-tempo. Sunshiny lyrics (lots of lalalala’s), lazy guitar line, ends with rhythmic dry stomping once the lyrics stop.
†5. 3.39 Interesting fragmentation. Starts with an apprehensive mid-tempo lead-in, then there’s some interesting percussion work halfway through with echo-y vocals, then the apprehensive set comes back and develops a syncopated beat, then mellows down into a subdued keyboard outro.
