Ursa Minor is primarily NYC singer/songwriter Michelle Casillas. Her music ranges from rock (think Pretenders) to alt rock/indie rock (Ani Difranco, Television, Geraldine Fibbers). Her vox remind me Chrissie Hynde meets Ani Difranco. It’s fairly straightforward stuff. FCC clean.

Best tracks: 03, 04, 06, 10

Lead & I Will Follow (3:11): upbeat, guitar/drums/organ
She Wants You (2:41): up, but lighter feel, very rhythmic, lots of harmonics, vox have more affectations
Guerilla (4:23): riffy, reminds me of Television, strings at the very end
2032 (3:09): Geraldine Fibbersesque: very rhythmic, quirky, catchy
Always Someone (4:26): straightforward mid-tempo standard rock, nice vox melody, twangy gtr
Showface (3:01): quietly strummed elec gtr, vox, skronky gtr in bckgrnd, snare drum rolls, builds abt halfway thru w/ steady beat, lead gtr; synth at end
No Other (4:25): complex groove w/ drum, bass, gtr; also wah-wah gtr, fiddle
Hurry (4:30): slow, march-like verses: jangly gtr, sloppy lead,; choruses are 70s rock
Come To Me (3:18): slow, acoustic, swingy vox
All Of The Time (4:15): bluesy/swingy/country, nice acoustic lead
What Good Is A Song (3:26): ballad: acoustic gtrs, vox, bass, drums, faint organ, slide gtr solo
Living Positive (4:38): mid-tempo rock: gtrs, bass, drum, vox
