Slow, ethereal folk ambient. Mirrorring, comprised of Jesy Fortino (Tiny Vipers) and Liz Harris (Grouper & Badgerlore), wrote this album after building a friendship from touring together. I like to think that Liz Harris has a distinct sound, even though it’s possible people have been doing what she does for years. Everything she touches is a gentle, yet swirling and noisy lullaby. This is an album of beautiful impressionistic landscapes, hazy fogs, and dreamy hypnotism. If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if Tiny Vipers dabbled in textures and longer sound pieces, or if Grouper had another hand in the studio to push her in different directions and throw in an acoustic guitar, this album is for you. 5. Atmospheric loops featuring Harris’ vocals and ambience, Fortino takes a confrontational vocal melody and it’s a little too Florence and the Machine and epic for this kind of music. Really dense wash out to end. (8:58)
