Full Time Beret is Joel Cuzzi, a folk & folk-rock singer/songwriter/guitarist. His voice is a deep tenor that reminds me on several tracks of Phil Ochs. Pretty good songwriting: most numbers are angry or sad break-up songs. Accompaniment is very basic: sometimes it’s just bass & drums, there’s a viola on few tracks, a bit of female harmony here and there.
No FCC issues.
* Mid-fast, solid folk rock. Strumming acoustic guitar, bass & drums. Angry lyric. (2:31)
Just singer and guitar. Very angry lyrics, telling someone off. (2:47)
** Mid-tempo. Pretty & emotional anti-love song. He sings 2 vox tracks, accompanied by finger-picked arpeggios on acoustic guitar and a beautiful viola. (2:36)
Mid-fast. Acoustic guitar, drums, 2 vox tracks. Symbolic lyrics, hard to interpret. (2:18)
* Mid-fast. Acoustic guitar arpeggios. Dylan-esque harmonica. Singing shows a lot of range, but is a bit breathy. A pretty viola. Nice, similar to #3, but not as strong. (2:28)
** Mid-fast, powerful. Hardy vocal, good acoustic guitar, a bit of piano. (2:46)
* Mid-tempo. Particularly good fingerstyle guitar. Nice M/F harmony singing. Another good showing by the voila. (2:53)
* Mid-fast instrumental. Half solo acoustic guitar; second half add bass & drums. (3:06)
Mid-tempo. Guitar & singing. Dylan-esque harmonica. Anti-corporate lyric. (2:43)
Mid-fast. Acoustic guitar and drums. Rather dull, monotone singing. (3:23)
** Mid-fast, title track. Fingerstyle acoustic arpeggios. Angry, proud break-up song. Ironically happy sound with unhappy lyrics. A nice female harmony vocal. (2:15)
