Origamibiro is an audiovisual artist collective from the UK, and here they have put together a compilation of soft ambient soundscapes, making heavy use of laptops, strings, keys, and samples. Most tracks change considerably over their runtimes, taking full advantage of the wide range of instruments employed and occasionally offering brief moments of silence or deemphasized beats. Big post-rock influence, not too weird or dark; pleasant to hear.
RIYL: Hildur Guonadottir, Lickets, GY!BE, Four Tet
*1 (8:04) Staticky rainfall, chirping birds, muffled footsteps, pretty strings and synths. Alternates between quiet and medium, with 30 seconds of faintness at the end fading into the next track.
2 (4:21) Quiet stretch of rain before synths begin to rise and subside several times. Features dark, inquisitive chimes.
*3 (5:35) Louder, windy and mechanical. Intensely plucked, creaky stringed instrument of some kind comes in before strings wash it away.
4 (5:44) Quiet found sound leads into a brief plucky, deconstructed bass rhythm; more prettiness at the end.
5 (5:26) Glitchy and uptempo, with a kinda cheesy sample of a cheering crowd.
6 (2:42) Short, quiet mostly string piece.
*7 (5:44) Strings are plucked and hum alongside faint whirring at various, mostly fast tempos.
8 (2:22) Guitar led, final third is almost silent.
9 (4:23) Soft piano and strings close things out
