Legendary group The Blasters who came to fame in early 1980’s L.A. with American Music. It’s rockabilly, original R’n’R, country, blues stylings. This is only their second studio album in 27 years!! (the other ‘4-11-44’ from 2005) and has 3/4 of the original line-up. It’s Phil Alvin, John Bazz, Bill Bateman and (in place of Dave Alvin) Keith Wyatt. Features Exene Cervenka (of X) guesting on vocal on #2 and Kid Ramos on the Bajo Sexto. All songs fantastic. No FCC’s.

1. *(2:34) Mid. Driving jump-blues classic. Killer guitar solo, pounding drums.
2. (3:33) Mid / Fast. ‘Jackson’ most famously done by Johnny Cash and June Carter. Similar upbeat, drum-driven treatment w/ Exene on vocal. Nice.
3. (3:58) Mid. Classic original r’n’r / country sound w/ fingersnaps, plodding beat.
4. *(2:12) Mid. Title track. Upbeat rocker, bar-room blues burner, crunchy guitar.
5. *(3:55) Slow. Down-tempo blues mourner w/ harmonica.
6. *(2:24) Fast. Barnburnin’ psychobilly ditty w/ insane playing by all. A Classic!
7. (3:11) Mid. Bluesy w/ plodding beat, minimal but perfect guitar, harmonica.
8. (2:36) Mid. James Brown classic w/ like treatment incl. back vcls and cymbals.
9. *(2:19) Mid. Classic rockabilly vibe w/ big drums and great guitar.
10. *(3:29) Mid. Trance blues a-la R.L. Burnside or Fred McDowell. Well-done.
11. *(2:36) Mid / Fast. Classic country mountain music w/ fantastic yodeling!!!
12. *(2:53) Mid. Dave Alvin classic done here in Spanish. Solid.
