Eat The Dream
Gnawa Music From Essaouira
Sublime Frequencies
Music from the Gnawa, a mystical brotherhood borrowing from mystical Islam and African shamanism. Trance inducing. Uses krakebs (metal clappers) and gimbri / sinter (3 stringed lute)
A Side
1. Stringed guitar like thing
*2. Shrill North African reeded instrument intros a big head nodding groove with some group accompanying vocals
3. Psychedelic howling, background noise, dramatic gimbri and drum with male vox
*4. More North African reeded instruments, intricate, playful then rhythmic drums and low chanting
5. Found sound, talking, laughing intro, guitar and metal clappers
B Side
*6. Low fi male low singing intros in trance like bass and drums and quiet chanting. fake out ending (Really long)
7. quiet reeded instruments, drums - Wedding street procession
8. Big pounding furious drums
