COLL: KOMMAND EP - ETG003 Label: EarToGround
Four ruthlessly uncompromising techno tracks. Dax J & Chris Stanford give us "Kommand", while Gareth Wild provides a track called "Get Raw". The originals are fantastic but I think the remixes are even better. All are worth a spin, and if I were to choose my favorite, the winner is the Samuli Kemppi remix of "Get Raw".
1. Crushing uncompromising techno. No-holds-barred pounding beats with a repetitive percussive tone. And amidst the hammering, a spooky ambience comes in halfway through and takes a break. Then the punishing resumes.
2. Intentionally distorted remix. The crackles cover the entire track, which is a slightly adjusted version of the original.
3. Deeper techno with a distinctive analog bass manipulation that bounces & rolls over most of this track. The break in the middle is an industrial-sounding ambience.
4. Much more stripped-down version than the original, but this allows for the beats to gain potency and power. Very hard-hitting. The reverberations are dub-like.
