Sex Judas feat. Ricky: My Girls Label: Marketing Records
If you have an artist by the name of Sex Judas, you should expect that his music is going to be dirty and kinky. And that's exactly the case. Sex Judas's vocalist Ricky lends his weird brand of drunken-soul vocals to put out two distinctly original dirty-electro-funk tracks, "My Girls" and "Salvador" (#1 & #2). Anyone who likes weird & kinky electro will like these two tracks.
But I think the stars of this EP are the two stellar remixes by My Favorite Robot and Chicago Damn. They take the originals to different realms of psychedelia. All tracks are great, but be sure to try the remixes (#3 & #4) for sure.
1. "My Girls": Dirty & nasty disco-soul, with the distinctive gnarly drunken-R&B vocalsof Ricky, mixed with an 80s electro-infused kraut-rock-esque style. Trippy, funky, and the last few minutes of instrumental goodness are really fabulous.
2. "Salvador": Grinding electro-funk with hints of acid. Deep drunken-soul vocals are accented by noisy grinding electro-acid. Fun & dirty at the same time.
3. "My Girls (My Favorite Robot remix)": Trippy & space-y tech-house remix of the original. Less on the soul/disco side, but more on the psychedelic synths. Huge buildups.
4. "My Girls (Chicago Damn remix)": Oh man, this is a great remix. The hi-hats are going all over the place on this dirty acid-house track. This is a big departure from the original but it's SO good.
