FOLKIE SINGER-SONGWRITER
Adnan Sabir is from Pakistan, now based in New York. His music is an interesting blend of folk, Americana, and world-music influences. His singing voice is very good. A terrific debut record: give any song a try.

No FCC issues

1 ** Mid-tempo. After a very cool Mid-east intro/chant, the song emerges with a hypnotic, psych-folk feel. (5:29)

2 * Mid-tempo. Easy country-rock. Twangy electric guitar, organ. Fun song. (3:11)

3 Mid-slow, mellow, breathy. Sad lyric. (5:01)

4 Mid-tempo. Light-hearted Paul-Simon-like love song. Guitar, organ, drums. (3:37)

5 ** Slow to mid. Touching tribute to Dad. Richly layered sound. (3:52)

6 * Mid-fast. Mid-east lick on elec guitar. Sort of a folk-rock “Rockin’ the Casbah” (3:59)

7 Mid-tempo. Silly song with lots of orchestration. (3:14)

8 * Mid-slow. Classic folk-rock. Fine vocal, twangy electric guitar. (4:41)

9 * Mid-tempo. Gorgeous and fascinating world music with catchy rhythm & melody. Features a beautiful wooden flute. Foreign language lyric. (5:14)

10 ** Mid-fast. Fun mix of styles (a bit of everything); even a rap in the middle. (3:26)
