ELIN RUTH: “Elin Ruth” – Quasi-Classical piano and strings, with sometimes strained Country/blues-ish vocals. Personal Faves: 5, 4, 8 -- Sunshine April 2013
1) Bang – Sappy wannabe Old School soul, without much soul. Kim Carnes style vocals. Processed harmony. (3:04)
2) 2) Your Love Is Loaded – Country. Sort of female Johnny Cash. (2:39)
3) Wait For Me – Really ridiculous vocal harmony at start. More country feeling, with island accent.. (3:33)
4) Higher (Super Mom) – Now she really sings! Bluesy burner. Violins?! (5:43)
5) Love (featuring Lars Erikkson) – Cool rhythmic stuff at beginning. Acoustic. Male/female vocal duet. (3:16)
6) Dead Man Walking –Chaotic percussion. Rushing through NYC rush hour. Upbeat Country. Break-up song, with inspiration! Interesting lyrics. (5:39)
7) Is It Over – Ballerina twirling with piano student. Female harmony. Sort of silly. (3:41)
8) F Off (featuring Ane Brun) – More ‘60s style acoustic. More love lamenting/storytelling/awakening. (3:53)
9) Shine A Little Light – Funny lyrics, with “serious” background vocals. Lighthearted ditty. (4:17)
10) 1000 Hands – Solemn piano recital. Whirling Dervish?! Just kidding. Almost suicidal thoughts in lyrics. More violin/cello. Some vocal harmony. Slow. (5:13)
