Sam Paganini: Body to Body Label: Cocoon
This awesome release from Sam Paganini is a 5-track EP that really rips the dancefloor apart. The latest from the mad geniuses at Cocoon Recordings. The EP ranges from great groovy tech-house to straight up techno with epic buildups. This is techno that's listenable and incredibly catchy & fun. The signature track on this EP is #2 ("Fire in My Arms"), which was played at a Stanford party (EBF) before this EP was even released, and people ran up to the DJ booth to ask what it was. All great, but #2 is the bomb. Also give #5 ("Polyester") a try as well, and for a darker techno track #1 ("Body to Body") is very meaty.
1. "Body to Body" (6:35): Incredible opening techno track that's got one of the most deep-low kicks that I've ever heard. Literally rumbles inside your head. Breakdown in the middle is noisy and twisted.
2. "Fire in My Arms" (6:15): This track ROCKED the EBF party on April 3rd, 2013. Thumpin' beat, catchy synth loop melody with a techy vocal manipulation that builds up into just epic awesomeness
3. "Hot" (7:22): Nervy, bouncy, and frenetic. It's got a salsa-esque feel with funky little acidic manipulations. Nice mid-set groover.
4. "Paral-lel" (7:02): A similar feel to #2 but has more of a straight-up tech-house bounce. The warbling effects are kinda cool.
5. "Polyester: (6:42): Bouncy disco-techno. Big breakdowns and snappy drum buildups, a solid dancefloor groover. Fun.
