Angry, scuzzy, rattling, consistently loud post-/hardcore-/punk out of Oakland, from the guy who brought you bands named Child Pornography and Sister Fucker. Garagey instrumentation but too pointed to be garage-punk; intense, sincere, lo-fi feel without the shitty recording quality (sounds, for instance, like something you'd hear on WNL). On KZSU fave George Chen's (Chen Santa Maria) label, Zum. Pretty small spaces between some songs, so be careful.
RIYL: Tyvek, Husker Du, Minutemen, God is My Co-Pilot
1 (2:44) FCC FUCK Biafra-style screamed/warbling vox, plodding murky guitars; slower 90s indie rock influence
2 (2:41) Dissonant, slow chorus w/ m+f vox; drums, garagey guitar kick in, androgynous lead vox
3 (2:30) Chaotic drum rolls. shouted vox
4 (2:13) Marching urgency, huge fuzzy bass, touch of early British heavy metal guitar tone
*5 (2:48) Melodic lead vox with a plodding backing rhythm, noisy guitar licks
6 (2:15) FCC SHIT Bluesy hard rock meets hardcore
*7 (3:12) Psychy bassline is the loudest thing here, guitars grind and tear behind it. Sounds like it could be from a UK post-punk comp circa 79. Anthemic, political vox
8 (2:39) FCC SHIT Angst about working all the time, you'll be drumming on whatever's closest to you
9 (2:49) Straightforward bruiser, vox halfway obscured
*10 (2:56) Bassline causes some kind of horror anxiety; jarring, jutting guitars, particularly intense screamed/sung vox; culminates nicely at the end with volume and what sounds like a buried chant
11 (3:28) Good representation of their overall sound without going off in a different direction; see first sentence
