Reuben Sawyer – Constricting Realities (Constellation Tatsu, 2013)
Primitive freefloating ambient, gorgeous in a way only our reptilian brain regions could comprehend. Spacious, airy, blissful, for fans of Budd/Eno, Basinski, Boyle, Folke Rabe, et al. Constellation Tatsu's latest batch of tapes hasn't disappointed yet.
1. (3:21) Dreamy, drifting, a single tone droning onward with subtle modulations and tidal waves of shimmering harmonies
2. (7:05)* Bleak, brooding, melancholy, wistful—oh, the heartstrings this track can pull!
3. (3:47) abstract, blurry, slightly more old-school sounding synth
4. (6:31) dark, hushed and airy, eerily elegiac
5. (7:26) starts with atonal gusts of wind, mellows out into some narcotic tonal washes, expansive, densely layered dreamscapes
