Collaboration between Kimya Dawson from Moldy Peaches and Aesop Rock, the
critically acclaimed hip hop artist/producer. Dense, abstract wordplay in freak
folk, improvisational feeling music.
FCC: Track 8, “Bats” (Shit) *=favorites
– (1:16) Kryptonite. Oom-pah-pah, lilting little ditty.
– (4:12) Delicate Cycle.* Some bizarre, some touching lyrics, pretty.
– (3:22) TV On 10.* Dark bass line, oddball but somehow catchy.
– (1:59) Earthquake. Mid-tempo, melodic rap, pretty good.
– (3:13) Organs.* Slightly morbid song on organ donation, clever.
– (0:38) Superheroes. Short interlude.
– (3:10) Jambi Cafe.* Acoustic backing folky sound, nice vocals.
– (6:43) Bats.* Slower tempo, FCC violation.
– (2:38) Scissorhands.* Folky song about Edward Scissorhands.
– (2:30) Eyeball Soup.* Rapid-fire vocal chant, mid-tempo, nicely done.
– (3:48) The Aquarium.* Upbeat, assertive, intriguing.
– (4:56) Teleprompters. Soft intro, quieter song than most on album.
– (3:24) Alligator.* Song with ping-pong game in background. Works.
– (3:13) WYHUOM.* Mid-tempo, funk sound, funny.
– (4:30) Boomerang.* Pretty, soft little song.
– (5:06) Tits Up. Another groove, funk sound song.
