LOUD FAST PUNK

Out of Boston, Street Dogs is a punk group featuring the singer from Dropkick Murphys. With little of the social commentary of the Pistols, Clash, etc., this is more about getting drunk and violent.

FCC issues in some tracks

1 FCC (“fucking mess”). Mid-fast to very fast. Alternating punk power chords and a martial fife and snare march, with lyrics like an Irish drinking song. A fucking mess. (4:12)
2 Very fast cover of Uncle Tupelo song. Besides a bunch of drunken frat boys trying to be obnoxious, no one could like this totally inane, stupid song. (2:10)
3 Mid-tempo. A solid wall of guitar power chords and bass. A bit of punk’s rebelliousness here (contrasting with the simplistic “lets get drunk and violent” of the above). (2:27)
4 * Very fast. A comic riff based on “Battle Hymn of the Republic” then changes into blistering fast, loud punk thrash. An angry, Sex Pistols feel. (3:51)
5 ** Mid-fast. Powerful Clash-like quality, especially in the group-vocal refrains. (3:04)
6 * FCC (“how the fuck” it’s a shame ‘cuz this is a good song.) Fast. Interesting lyrics with a Weezer-like sense of humor. (2:34)
