Daniel Stefanik - Confidence Remixes Label: Cocoon
KZSU got an advance copy of Daniel Stefanik's album "Confidence" last September from the guys at Cocoon, and it was really well-received. Cocoon just sent us this fabulous remix EP (again, ahead of everyone else), and it features four remixes of some of Stefanik's work from last year. These remixes are FABULOUS. Each one is a renewed interpretation of the original Stefanik track. From exotic house, techy club bangers, to dubby broken-beat explorations, this is a great EP. My two favorites are #1 (Legowelt's remix of "Bend the Rules" and #2 (Adam Port's remix of "Confidence" - WOW).
1. "Bend The Rules (Legowelt Remix)" (5:56) - Lovely and playful house, rich with synths, a funky bassline, sunny tones and bird-like chirps. Very nice remix of the original.
2. "Confidence (Adam Port Remix)" (7:58) - Wonderful transformation of Stefanik's "Confidence" - turned into an exotic Latin-y party. Port keeps the excellent bassline from the original, adds some great percussive layers.
3. "Confidence (Mr. G's Warm Mix)" (8:10) - Deep and techy house remix. Mr. G. uses the bassline more rhythmically, to keep the track more punchy. He adds a neat little synth melody halfway through the track that's kinda playful & funky.
4. "Keep On (Mathias Kaden Remix) (7:16) - Techno-meister Mathias Kaden lends his remix skills and produces a dubby, broken-beat track that definitely trips you out. Pretty neat, and unexpected.
