Massive sprawling experimental electronic double-LP. Musical chameleon Richard Youngs has done everything from plaintive, Kozelek-esque guitar wrist-cutting-core to abstract, synthetic noise. This leans hard towards the latter. If you’re into vocals from bands like Xiu Xiu, screeching feedback, digital distortion, pummeling organic and inorganic percussion drenched in effects, squealing synths, repetition, techno-thrillers, electroacoustic fussing, Tuusanuuskat, Physical Demon, you’ll like this.
1. Looped, pained, cracking vocal sample slathered in effects, distortion, digital gale. (15:38)
*2. Clattering synths and bells settles into a rhythmic, computerized drone. Kind of fuzzy and gorgeous. (12:19)
3. Collage of warped voices, high-pitched ringing sounds, inorganic rattling. A strange uneasiness, but also prettiness - waffles between a nice dream and nightmare. (6:09)
4. LONG. Woodwinds, messy, loose spaceship takeoff effects. Pagoda alien trippin. (22:05)
*5. Snarling bass groove, shards of slow distorted guitar waves, almost hyper-industrial, urgent plodding rhythm, complete wash of bells. Techno-paranoia. (15:41)
