Long-form psychedelic rituals from Japan, legendary veterans making a goofy and carefree tribute to 60s Hendrixian acid-rock. This is about as accessible as they get, and damn is it delicious. Let me be blunt: this is pretty much the greatest shit ever, THE shit with a most definite article. Imagine if your gypsy caravan wandered into a dive bar circa 1972 after smoking boatloads of hash, and Jimi’s sharing the stage with Miles Davis playing some vintage Moog synthesizers. Now imagine you’re actually on Mars, and the band is a Hendrix tribute band fronted by teletubbies and Yoko Ono. It’s THAT fucking good. FCC clean, the lyrics are mostly gibberish.
1. (21:57) funky campy sing-along wah-wah wanking fun times, driving rhythms go on and on and on
2. (12:45) urgent pace and abrasive synth over some mellow proggy guitar and oblique Japanese crooning
3. (13:06) mellow guitar strumming and trippy tropical melodies, still weird and wild but a more relaxed jam overall
4. (18:39) interesting guitar textures, juxtaposing crisp jazzy stuff with noisy squealing solos, trippy jamming crescendos into outer space
5. (11:37) BEST TRACK! Head-nodding meditative groove with shimmering guitar arpeggios, chanting, sci-fi synth oscillations, basically just perfection.
