Very musical (accessible, even) X collaboration between Derek Rogers and Lee Noble. Quite organic, with many layers of sound. All tracks improvised. Noble plays, at minimum, a modular synth (seemingly his first release with it, so there's lots of exploration) and Rogers plays heavily effected, laptop-processed synths. An urgent, nervous energy seems to drive the whole thing, even in its quieter moments. Play any/play all.
RIYL: Sundrips, Hobo Cubes, Evan Caminiti, Caboladies
1 (6:39) Free jazzy squeaks, whirrs, trembles, sparkles play over an urgent, quiet, soft bass backbone that subsides as the track goes on. Subtle lush synths add depth.
2 (3:26) Music for wondering; calm droning synths in the foreground lead as sharper, quieter noises sound take a bird and insect presense in the background.
3 (4:38) Warm, breathing synths alongside many loud and high-pitched (but never harsh or abrasive) noises. Really pretty
4 (2:18) Darker, foreboding, minimalist; a low trilling synth tone repeats for >1/2 the track before a brief accompaniment by higher organ tones and then its distortion into higher, altered pitches
5 (3:51) Less nervous; sustained, sunny drony synth is joined by others that sound almost like woodwinds and strings.
6 (8:03) Spacy, twangy, alternating melody is constant here, joined by electronic touches of all types- high and low, long and short, over its course. Entrancing.
