Folk album with modern, heavily electronic production making each song lush and full. James Ginzburg, artist, has experience in noise, ambient, techno, dance. Guitar effects, fingerpicked guitars, pianos, strings, percussive noises, something xylophonesque are used to present nostalgic, occasionally romantic musings. British accent, whispery vox.
RIYL: Benoit Pioulard, Mark Kozelek & Desertshore, Nick Drake, Garfunkel, Pink Floyd if they went folk instead of prog in the 70s, Bon Iver
1 (3:08) Steel guitar touches, sparse snapping percussion; sparse rhythm
2 (3:29) Gentle downtempo folk-pop; sounds almost dated until the meandering electronics come in
**3 (3:05) Really pretty, slightly upbeat, catchy for a semi-restrained folk song; xylophone?, banjo?, accordian synths?, fuzz add a bright sheen
4 (3:50) Alternates between plodding piano, low horn wobbles, quiet vox, and keys kicking up, organ joining, things lushifying
5 (3:23) Jammy folk track with a variety of musical sounds, vox very far in the background indecipherable
6 (5:09) Acoustic strumming with some jazzy, steely guitar and high, warm synth accents. Distorted solo near the end
7 (3:43) Marching drums, bagpipey synths, a couple quiet acoustic parts
*8 (4:56) Slow, nice backing piano/synths with quiet percussion; second half is louder, electric
9 (3:35) Folky acoustic plucking, layered, hushed vox
