FUNKY, ROCKY, GRITTY, ENERGETIC JAM-band started by Allman Bro's guitarist Warren Haynes. Second CD has SAME SONGS, but all vocals redone by various FAMOUS artists-make sure to check them out. Album has surprising variety, something for everyone, SOLID THROUGHOUT
****1. (5:25) Funky distorted guitar, constant bass keeps it energetic, two guitar solos, catchy chorus, weird last minute outro of beeping sounds and drums
****2. (4:55) Similar to track 1 in style but slower, very gritty
***3. (5:11) Slow, more quiet, softer vocals, more like a typical rock song
***4. (9:05) I might compare it to My Morning Jacket? Another slow,
less busy rock song. Great chill, calm jam session in second half builds intensity to end.
****5. (6:17) Raggae. Awesome.
*****6. (8:23) Somehow back to gritty funk-rock, bluesy song about cheating
***7. (6:19) And again to the softer classic rock feel, kind of Eaglesy
***8. (6:12) Gritty blues funk-rock complaining boyfriend again
****9. (7:46) Little bit of Neil Young feel, soft drums, bluesy keys
**10. (4:15) FCC (my fuckin' fingers) at very end (easily cut) Just a rock song, not that great
****11. (11:06) Great rock song to finish it off, fine guitar solo/jam for the last few minutes.
Disc 2:
NOTE:TRACK ORDER DOES NOT CORRESPOND TO CD 1
*****1. (4:31) Ben Harper... makes it a little bit better
****2. (4:12) (no longer an FCC) Elvis Costello... actually makes this song actually good
**********...3. (10:01) FCC easily cut at 6:42 (mothafuckin' low) Dr.
John... is my hero. My new favorite song? Cool Nawlins gospel vocals
and keys jam last few minutes, by the way
****4. (5:45) Jim James... is, in fact, from My Morning Jacket. Makes
it better than original version.
****5. (5:11) Grace Potter... makes it better for sure
****6. (5:53) Toots Hibbert... has a weird voice. Ties with original.
*****7. (5:15) Glenn Hughes... makes it better
*****8. (6:43) Ty Taylor... makes it better
****9. (5:18) Dave Matthews... yeah, of course he makes it much better
**10. (6:11) Myles Kennedy... actually isn't quite as good
***11. (6:36) Steve Winwood... Again, I prefer the original
