Armenian-Syrian singer-songwriter Lena Chamamyan studied classical singing at the Damascus Higher Institute of Music. Since 2011 she lives in exile in Paris. Her 3rd CD continues her musical project: reviving Syrian & Armenian folk songs keeping the original melodies & lyrics while fusing micro-tonal Oriental modes & Western harmonic style. More Armenian content than her previous CDs. Smooth & sweet mezzo-soprano voice with a big range. She performs delicate Oriental embellishments & jazz scats accompanied by an electric (bass guitar) & acoustic (piano, trumpet, qanun, drum kit) ensemble.
