Italian drone/noise/industrial. This is dark, hellish music. However, amid the chaos something relentlessly human brims to the surface. Much more nuanced and unpredictable than grating harsh-noise (to my ears at least). 2014 has barely even started yet but this CD is just as captivating as some of my favorite music from the entirety of last year. Play this to scare the shit out of those cousins you have in Oklahoma who tune into your show every week. Favorites: 1, 2, 3. No detectable FCCs, but not for the faint of heart.
RIYL: Pharmakon, Dirty Beaches, Haxan Cloak, Xiu Xiu, Liars
1. (6:01) **** Industrial, cavernous, ferocious. Cinematic background brass and orchestral arrangements. Transitions with 2 min left into morose guitar and manic, sporadic, snare hits.
2. (3:15) ** Low rumbling. Midway through bursts into thunderous drums and eerie yelled vocals.
3. (6:01) ** Sound of glass breaking and a woman crying out. Female vocals flit in and out creating a collage narrative word by word. Droning wails in the background. Ends with a ghoulish choir of voices.
4. (3:15) Dark ambient gurgles. Grows into an industrial dirge before ebbing into silence. Reviewed by Muscat
