This is a re-issue of this mid 1970’s classic live recording from Ohio’s finest. This is Krautrock, Rock, Jazz, Fusion, Funk, R&B, Psychedelic…whatever you want to call it, or just simply call it what it is…Great. Amazing guitars, percussion, sax, harmonica….pretty incredible musicianship throughout. One review mentioned that some of this was recorded on the night they opened for Bob Marley. Must have been some gig if that was indeed the case. The sax playing is frightening at times – would be really interesting to know if they influenced some of the UK punk bands of the time.
3 & 5 are bloody brilliant.
No FCC’s

1) Animal Speaks (4.04) Sounds like a “Blues Brothers” track. Has that sparkle to it. Half spoken / sung vocals drive it along.
2) About The Eye Game (5.19) This blends into the previous track. Hard punching sax, this is all over the place – In a good way. Has glorious guitars in the last minute.
3) Narrow Road (6.17) Wow…. drive you car fast to this beauty.
4) Thief (4.38) This hits you all ends up, a collage of all things good musically. A storytelling journey that gets into you head. That’s one Saxxy finish.
5) Jimmy Bell (11.01) The End (The Doors), Gimme Shelter (Rolling Stones), Walk On Gilded Splinters (Dr John) …what more can you say.
6) About Leaving Day (7.19) Driving guitars with a strong sax mixing it up.
7) Who Do You Love? (5.11) Picking guitar & harmonica. High energy packed version.
8) Drive (6.18) Just keeps on at you. Guitar soloing heavily in this. What an end.
9) Keep A Knockin’ (But You Can’t Come In) (5.44) Standard up beat tempo version of this one. The sax spices it up though.
