Bleak ambient desolation. Could write a dissertation describing the mood / symbolism of this recording, no real need to though, basically, it’s just all round great.
German artist Martin Stürtzer in fine form once again. From, Malignant Records.
All instrumental.
Play them all.
No FCC’s
1) Gates Of Atlantis (5.35) Slow & grimy start, then the drums kick in after a couple of minutes for an almost upbeat dancey feel. Slowing up to finish.
2) Temple Of Yith (6.59) From the build up, you know this will be good. Windswept landscape or Desolation under the sea. Slow, droney & lovely….
3) Spiritual Possession (5.35) Atmospheric, sound track quality. Legions of some mythical army marching to glory.
4) Hibernation (7.33). The background hum leads the way. Similar to the previous track, just slighter more mellow. Mythical army making the long journey back home.
5) New Stellar Age (5.56) Comparable to DiJ for sure, still plenty good enough in it’s own right. Captures the feeling of isolation & tormented souls. Slow & unnerving.
6) The Shadow Out Of Time (7.56) Subtle, yet menacing. Bleak, yet vivid.
7) Ascension (7.48) In similar vain to the previous. Desolate drone for a lengthy introduction, then a slight pulse as we head to the light.
