Had Neil Young been born 45 years later, this might be what he’d sound like: Rootsy jams that are subtly psyche. Recorded live with an improv, no hurry at all feel. Takes a few tracks to sink in, as at first I kinda thought I’d label this a “psychedelic jam band record”. But then its as if the drugs take effect at track 4 and it all goes the way of all things strange and beautiful. Fans of the usual suspects: Bardo Pond, C. Melton, taking drugs in warm sunny meadows. Several tracks end cold so pot down!!
1) (9:05) upbeat, swingy, rootsy feel, Neil Young comes to mind, very repetitive
2) (5:29) upbeat, this one with chord changes
3) (0:55) interlude between songs
4) (12:00) slow mindful, heavily echo’ed female vocals, killer effects at first and cool voice tube use in middle, ends cold – ugh! Pot down!
5) (7:00) the slow swing of Neil Young a la American Stars and Bars, lovely stuff, girl singing again, ends very cold!
6) (8:37) pretty damn hippie jammy, until… about ¾ way through it breaks down into some lovely noise, ends cold/blends into next song nicely
7) (11:39) quiet, no full drums, full on Pink Floyd’ian slide guitar work and interweaving guitars, ends cold/blends into next track
8) (11:11) it all falls into place here: Fire on the Mountain, call it noodly almost Grateful Dead jam if you want but this is just a great long jam, with the girl singing beautifully, off-key chorusing with the delay, ends cold
9) (10:32) has a sexy Wooden Shijps beat, this one kicks ass
10) (3:30) a nice accessible radio-friendly song, vocs in front, to the point
