Second studio album from La Roux out on Interscope. Yes her last album went pretty mainstream, but I dont think there is any denying that this synth pop is worth listening to. As the name may suggest, Trouble In Paradise really does have a tropical vibe throughout with appearances from steel drums and whispy sounds. I really enjoyed this on my first listen.

1. (4:22) Uptight Downtown - ~10 seconds of near silence, followed by a steady baseline and some cool guitar chords with that same La Roux vocal we would have expected. Mid tempo.
2. (3:54) Kiss And Not Tell - A little more video-game style tones and a less distorted vocal.
3. (4:15) Cruel Sexuality - Falsetto galore in the chorus, mediocre instrumentation on this one.
4. (5:12) Paradise is You - Another ~18 seconds of silence at the beginning. This one is very beach-y.
5. (4:19) Sexotheque - Mid tempo, cool vocal phrasing, I really like this one.
6. (3:32) Tropical Chancer - This one sounds vaguely like I Saw The Sign by Ace of Base :) It is really good though, excellent use of steel drum sounds.
7. (7:01) Silent Partner - Instrumentation reminds me a bit of Devo, love the vocal sound on this one.
8. (5:40) Let Me Down Gently - Down tempo, ballad.
9. (4:06) The Feeling - Another standard synth pop track
